Manufacturing and quality

The character of a Sitaram Ayurveda preparation comes from two things held together: fidelity to the classical tradition, and the discipline of modern quality standards. For more than a century the house has prepared its formulations in Kerala, and today that craft is carried out in facilities that meet recognised international and national standards.

Certified facilities

Sitaram Ayurveda products are made in facilities that are:

  • GMP certified, following Good Manufacturing Practice for consistency, hygiene and control throughout preparation.
  • ISO 9001 certified, reflecting a structured, audited approach to quality management.
  • Halal certified, meeting the requirements of Halal certification.
  • FSSAI approved, holding approval from India's national food-safety authority.

Classical methods, faithfully kept

Certification governs how the work is done, not what is made. The formulations themselves remain classical, prepared according to traditional Ayurvedic methods and physician-led knowledge. The unhurried processes that give preparations such as the Thailams (herbal oils) and Arishtams (traditional fermented preparations) their character are preserved, while quality controls ensure each batch is prepared to a dependable standard.

Controlled import to Europe

Bringing these preparations to Europe is done with equal care. Products are imported under controlled conditions, with attention to European compliance at each stage. Sitaram Ayurveda Europe is served by a clear European structure: Svedica B.V., based in the Netherlands, acts as the European importer and Responsible Person, while Authentic Ayurveda d.o.o., based in Rijeka, Croatia, is the European distributor.

Together, this heritage of classical craft and this framework of certification and controlled import mean that the Sitaram Ayurveda you receive in Europe reflects both the tradition of Kerala and the standards expected today.
