Dhanwantharam 101 Avarthy is a classical Ayurvedic herbal oil from Sitaram Ayurveda, prepared in the Thailam (herbal oil) tradition and refined through many successive processings. The Avartana (the number of times the oil is patiently re-processed in fresh decoction) is a hallmark of the classical craft, and the figure of one hundred and one marks an especially careful preparation.

Dhanwantharam 101 Avarthy

A classical oil in the Thailam tradition

In the Ayurvedic tradition an oil of this kind is made by repeatedly cooking a base oil with herbal decoctions, each cycle lending the oil a finer, more settled character. This slow layering of processings is what distinguishes a high Avartana oil and reflects the heritage of Kerala oil making. The oil carries a warm, herbaceous aroma and a smooth feel on the skin.

Within a regular daily routine

In Dinacharya (the traditional daily routine), the practice of Abhyanga (slow self massage with oil) is a valued ritual of grounding and care. Warm the oil gently before use and apply with slow, even strokes.

How to use

For external use. Warm a small amount and massage calmly into the skin, then allow it to settle before a warm bath, or use as advised by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.

Sitaram Ayurveda has prepared classical oils in Kerala since 1921, keeping to authentic recipes under modern GMP quality standards.
