Dhanwantharam Ghritham is a classical Ayurvedic preparation from Sitaram Ayurveda in the form of a Ghritham (a herbal clarified butter preparation), crafted according to methods handed down through generations. Ghee based preparations hold a long and honoured place in the classical texts, valued for the way clarified butter carries the character of the herbs cooked within it.
Dhanwantharam Ghritham
A classical Ghritham
In the Ayurvedic tradition a Ghritham is prepared by slowly cooking clarified butter with herbal decoctions until the herbs have imparted their essence and the ghee has taken on a fragrant, golden character. This patient method is a mark of the classical craft. The preparation follows the celebrated Dhanwantharam tradition recorded in the Ayurvedic texts.
Within a regular daily routine
In Dinacharya (the traditional daily routine), a Ghritham is taken calmly, usually in the earlier part of the day, as a small ritual of continuity. It is often kept through the cooler seasons.
How to use
Take a small quantity with warm water, or as advised by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. Best enjoyed as part of an morning routine.
