Ghritham (a herbal preparation set in a base of clarified butter, or ghee) holds a distinguished place in the classical Ayurvedic tradition. Guggulu Thiktaka Ghritam is prepared by Sitaram Ayurveda following traditional Kerala methods, in which selected herbs of predominantly bitter (Thiktha, the bitter taste) character are gently processed into a golden, aromatic ghee.
Guggulu Thiktaka Ghritam
A classical ghee preparation
In Ayurveda, ghee is esteemed as a traditional carrier that has long been used to hold the qualities of herbs. Preparations of this kind are described in the classical texts as Rasayana (a rejuvenative preparation within Ayurvedic tradition), taken in measured amounts as part of a regular daily routine, or Dinacharya (the traditional Ayurvedic daily routine).
How to use
Traditionally, a small quantity is taken on the advice of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner, usually in the early part of the day, with warm water alongside. It fits naturally into a calm, seasonal routine. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
Prepared in Kerala by Sitaram Ayurveda, whose heritage in classical Ayurvedic preparation reaches back to 1921, to GMP quality standards.
