Punarnavasavam is a classical Ayurvedic fermented herbal preparation centred on Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa), traditionally valued for supporting the body’s natural fluid balance and urinary comfort. Prepared by naturally fermenting a herbal decoction with sweeteners, it develops a pleasantly tangy taste and is used in daily routines to support gentle detoxification and overall vitality under qualified guidance.
How to use
Unless otherwise prescribed by your Ayurveda practitioner, adults may take around 15, 25 ml once or twice daily after food, diluted with an equal quantity of lukewarm water. Shake the bottle well before each use. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Children should only use this product on the advice of a qualified practitioner.
Routine tips
Punarnavasavam is usually taken after meals as part of an evening or bedtime routine. Many practitioners combine it with a balanced, light dinner and adequate hydration through the day to support the body’s own elimination processes. It can be used alongside gentle movement such as walking and leg elevation to ease feelings of heaviness.
Practitioner guidance
In classical practice Punarnavasavam is selected when there is a tendency to Kapha and Pitta imbalance with a sense of puffiness, heaviness or stagnation in the system. The fermented base offers good bioavailability and is often preferred when a gentle, longer-term approach to supporting kidney, urinary and liver wellness is desired. It can be careful as part of a broader protocol that includes dietary adjustments and lifestyle measures tailored to the individual constitution (prakriti).

Use only as directed by your healthcare or Ayurveda practitioner, especially if you are taking prescription medication or have a diagnosed medical condition. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your practitioner advises otherwise. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Store tightly closed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Natural sediment or slight variation in taste may occur due to the herbal fermentation process; this does not affect quality.
