Triphala Ghritham unites two pillars of the Ayurvedic tradition: the celebrated three-fruit formulation and the classical ghee-based preparation. Prepared by Sitaram Ayurveda in Kerala, it is crafted to traditional methods that carry the botanical character gently into a golden medium.
Triphala Ghritham
The classical form
A Ghritham (herbal ghee) is made by slowly cooking clarified butter with a herbal decoction until the character of the botanicals is fully drawn into the ghee. Here the preparation follows Triphala (the three fruits), a classical combination of predominantly astringent and sour character long held in high esteem. The result is a smooth, aromatic herbal ghee in keeping with the old texts.
Traditional place in a daily routine
Within Dinacharya (the classical daily routine), a Ghritham is taken in small, measured amounts, often earlier in the day, as part of a careful rhythm. Triphala Ghritham is used in this same traditional, modest manner.
How to use
Take a small measured amount as part of your daily routine, or as directed by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. Being ghee-based, it softens gently when warmed. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
